About Desperado Music Hall

At Glamazon, we believe that keeping the role-play in-game and off of Twitch helps bring emersion you can't get while switching between FFXIV and Twitch chats. That's why we created a special event space for bards only!Inside the venue has opportunities to run a large concert, a small show or even a full fledged music festival. Two venue spaces inside are included, with a basement concert venue well suited for large sets (and a hidden backstage area) and a smaller music lounge on the ground floor for more intimate events. Also included are a ticketing booth at the entrance and a small bar area to sell or provide refreshments. The exterior property has been kept mostly blank to provide custom design for events such as festivals.Glamazon offers this venue for free of charge to any bards, bands or event coordinators to use as they wish. The only thing you have to do to book the venue is to join the discord and request a booking there, and if no one else is on the schedule, you will be free to use the venue.

Bards for Brains: Bard Festival

Bard for Brains is a charity bard festival aimed at promoting brain research facilities.

Why?

In honor of my late mother who died from complications from brain aneurysms a few years ago. She was able to live for 9 years after her aneurysms thanks to an experimental surgery at a research hospital. I've always wanted to bring awareness to this cause so I thought this might be a small way to do it, as I pick one charity a year to work on something for irl.

How does the Charity Part Work?

No donations would be specifically requested during the show, just links provided to some research facilities that people can look into, during the event and on the promotions, and they can choose to donate if they would like or not. Awareness of options to do so is my goal, times are hard for a lot of people right now but maybe one day they will remember this and donate if they can. Those links will also be provided on the venue website in a link-tree as well as this discord.

About the Festival

The Festival would last 8 hours on Sunday May 21st, 2023, starting at 2pm EST and ending at 10pm EST with a possible after-party at the Goblet pool with a DJ starting at 10:15pm.

Logistics

2 stage areas are set up within the building, a large traditional concert hall with seating in the basement, and a small side stage and area on the main floor suited for single bards.All Bard bands would be in the larger concert hall and outside stages and sets would be 45 minutes with a 10 minute setup time in-between.All singles/duets/trios would be in the main floor room with sets at 30 minutes each, with a 5 minute setup time in between.Outdoors, I will look for sponsors for some food stalls, and there is a very small bar area inside. There will be no profit from any sales, as I will be paying all bards myself so anything we make from that will just go towards the pool of bard booking fees and staffing.

Bard Payments

All payment will be your standard rate for 1 hour, regardless of doing 45 minutes or 30 minutes. (Payments are Gil ONLY) We do have a ceiling on what we are willing to pay each performance, though I’m not going to mention what it is, I will only say if we can do your rate or not.
